No. 30 Valentine's Day was this week. I can still recall the pressure that I felt when I was younger around Valentine’s Day. People would ask what your plans are. If you didn’t have plans you felt like you were missing out. If you did have plans you were worried about how the evening would go. Spend too little and you were viewed as a cheapskate. Spend too much and you might be sending the wrong message. Thank God we didn’t have social media to amplify the stress.
Hi Angelo, although this post was over a year ago, it is still as relevant! Not only for Valentine's but any other day of our lives. I recently got through a pretty nasty divorce that took off the masks of several people I thought I knew (and trusted), which made me think that there should be also a cost added to this list. Not saying that every couple tends to get divorced, but that some of the newlyweds may confuse falling in love (the infatuation) with marriage (a decision to love). I would say there is love in both cases, but love as a married couple is a daily decision rather than just a feeling that fades away with time, because there will always be issues that generate conflict in a couple, but the decision on whether you want to make it work or not is the ultimate true move. Miss your classes at Babson and chatting with you! Hope to hear from you soon!
