Great and important stuff here! Why do suppose hearing aids are almost never offered in healthcare plans?

That is a good question. Perhaps there aren't enough lobbyists in D.C. to advocate for hearing aids. Strange as most of Congress appear to be deaf - at least to the needs of their constituents.

Nice to hear from you Sam and thanks for sharing. Feel free to re-use any of the content that might be helpful to your students and faculty. Healthcare is a confounding mess. I for one will never understand how we can feel good about sending billions of dollars overseas and at the same time not offer basic healthcare (annual physicals, preventative care, etc.) to the American people at low or no cost. I an bit advocating for socialized medicine (a la Bernie) because we know from watching what is happening in Canada and the UK that it doesn't work. However, basic services seem like a layup.
